Soil Engineering’s Technical Manager presents at Arups 2nd Workshop on Eurocode 7 and Design Challenges

On 18th March, Matthew Baldwin, Technical Manager for Soil Engineering Geoservices was invited to speak at the second Arup workshop on Eurocode 7 and New Design Challenges. Matthew gave a presentation entitled ‘Characterising Soil and Rock: the challenges associated with deriving characteristic values’.

In addressing over 100 delegates, Matthew shared the platform with leading industry figures including Dr Brian Simpson and Dr Andrew Bond. Other speakers were drawn from the Netherlands, France and Ireland.

Soil Engineering’s Matthew Baldwin confirmed as Chairman Elect of AGS

At the recent Association of Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Specialists (AGS) Members Day held on 19th March, Soil Engineering Geoservices Technical Manager Matthew Baldwin was confirmed as Chairman Elect to the AGS, to take effect from March 2015 for a fixed term of two years. Matthew will succeed Seamus Lefroy-Brooks who is current AGS Chairman.

Matthew has served on the AGS main committee for two years and is also chairman of the Business Practice Working Group.

Soil Engineering Geoservices Finalists in two categories of GE Awards 2014


Soil Engineering Geoservices are pleased to announce that they have been shortlisted as finalists in the Ground Engineering Awards 2014 for two categories:

  • UK Project with a Geotechnical Value up to £1m – Denaby Main Bath House Subway
  • Ground Investigation Specialist of the Year

We look forward to attending the award ceremony to be held at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London, 14th May 2014.

Soil Engineering welcome new Operations Manager

Soil Engineering Geoservices are pleased to announce the appointment of Graham Eaton to the position of Operations Manager. Graham will be based out of our Head Office and Depot at Leeds and will be responsible for the Company’s operational resources, plant department and depots nationally.

Graham comes with substantial experience in the field of geotechnical contracting and has been employed most recently at Green Piling and Simplex Westpile amongst others.

Graham will work alongside SEG’s regional Contracts Managers to ensure the safe, timely and successful delivery of our contracts.
