Client: Hochtief (UK) Construction Limited
Contract Value: £90,000
Soil Engineering carried out a detailed ground investigation to enable a ground risk assessment of the site (on behalf of Hochtief (UK) Construction Limited).
The investigation comprised seven cable percussive and two rotary boreholes, trial pits, detailed geotechnical and contamination sampling and testing, installation of gas/ water monitoring, topographical and check surveys, installations and precise settlement monitoring.
Also included in the investigation were two ground anchorage trials. The holes were constructed using ODEX through the made ground with a further 5/6m of T6116 core. The anchor was then grouted into the rock and tested with a 60 tonne load. The ground anchorage trials were undertaken to determine the strength of the rock.
