Developing STEM Teachers of the Future

Soil Engineering are very pleased to have reached a new agreement supporting developing STEM teachers. Our new linkup with the Earth Science Teachers Association (ESTA) will fund a place on their Summer School in 2022.

The ESTA Summer school provides valuable upskilling and support to teachers who wish to develop their practice in geoscience, and aim to teach geology to examination level. In a marketplace suffering from a significant shortage of new entrants, Soil Engineering recognise that supporting early engagement in geoscience is key. Our overall aim of developing STEM support and outreach has already been recognised in the 2022 Ground Engineering Awards, and we see the ESTA Summer School as a powerful approach to building STEM legacy. Supporting the Summer School will provide validated CPD for teachers, and in turn support their inspirational work in producing future generations of geoscientists.
