Sonic Drilling Expansion
Sonic Drilling “resonates” at Soil Engineering Geoservices
With a recent expansion of our in-house rig fleet from one sonic drilling rig to four, our nationwide drilling capability has never looked better. The acquisition of a second Eijkelkamp Fraste CRS XL140 Duo twin-head rotary/Sonic drilling rig alongside a more compact Eijkelkamp Fraste SRS ML Duo, and the further availability of the Sonic Drill SDC 550 rig provides a serious boost to our already comprehensive offer.
In order to support this major investment in delivering ever improving services to our clients we are also investing in management structure in this area. Ian Swain moves from leading our North of England ground investigation operations to head up our Specialist Geoservices business line, with a key focus on client experience for our drill-only and specialist techniques, which includes our sonic capabilities. In turn, we confirm the appointment of John Ireland as Regional Manager Ground Investigation (North), where he’ll continue to build on Ian’s work with key clients across the region.

If you feel sonic drilling could add value to your project, or would like to learn more about how it may benefit you in the future, contact us to learn more here. Meanwhile you can see our first sonic rig in action at the iconic Barony Shaft on our Youtube channel.
Don’t forget you can also come and talk to our team on Stand D at this year’s Geotechnica show in Warwickshire on the 8th and 9th of July.
